I have been involved in businesses for over 10 years now and without doubt the best business model I have seen is network marketing. I am still involved with my own MLM business and I love it. Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki think so too, so we can‘t all be wrong!!!.
Let's just take a step back to when I started. I was full of enthusiasm and drive. I would pester everyone I knew to get them to join me with the best opportunity in the world. I was working hard and learning lots of skills. There was just one problem. I did not seem to do very well at it. For 18 months I was spending more than I was earning (sound familiar?) and although I knew it was an investment in my future. I felt I was not moving forward with my business and my skills were not in the right places.
What was I doing wrong???
I was doing everything right except for my marketing. I needed more prospects through the door, I needed to generate more leads and more enquiries.
Do you remember the Golden challis sales pitch for MLM’s? The “you get 3 who get 3 who get 3” plan.
Now here’s what you need to know.
In order to get YOUR 3 GOOD PEOPLE (when I say good I mean those who work hard and want to make money and don’t lie or get lazy and so therefore don’t do anything productive)
you WILL NEED to generate 5000 leads (this will reduce if you have mastered your skills)
and yes you did read that right, 5000!!
and for YOU to sign maybe 50 distributors
just to get YOUR 3 good people.
WOW!!!!
You see, the average for a new person with few skills will sign 1 new distributor per 100 -200 leads generated. This can go up to 3-5 per 100 when you have great skills but that will take anything from 1-3 years to aquire them.
Think of it this way - another great bonus to generating free leads / enquiries is practicing and honing your skills at no cost whatsoever. Great practice from free advertising.

You will need to recruit 1-5 distributors a month continually for a number of years. So let's say you want 1 new person a month and you are new or relatively new to the business. You will need at least 100 leads a month to have a fairly good chance of 1 new sign up per month. remember these are averages and it is not uncommon for distributors to sign up someone from fewer leads just as it is also common that they can have 200-300 leads without success also.
So lets look at an average person who is new to the MLM business.
They will need 100 leads a month = £500 = 1 new distributor signed up
And if you want to advertise to generate your own leads you would need to really know what will work and what will not as it can be a very costly learning curve.
That’s why purchased leads seem the way to go as YOU do not need to be any good at marketing you can leverage from those who are.
